Complete partial inputs - eg Po oint = PowerPoint
This is a deal breaker for me; RayCast does it well; launcher (and search …) should narrow results set based on non-contiguous parts of target name. Today: If I type Point, I don’t get PowerPoint. If I type Pow nt, I don’t get PowerPoint. On my system, at a minimum I have to type “Powerp” before the launcher selects PowerPoint (as I start typing, up until that point, Raw Power remains selected)

Thanks for being honest about this being a deal breaker.
Raycast does do it well. I actually tailored this part of Monarch closer to other launchers, so this likely would not be put on the in progress stack for quite some time. I totally get it though!

Thank you!! I love every other aspect of Monarch I have experienced so far: Speed, resource efficiency, clarity of purpose. Especially the focus on being the best launcher, and nothing else, is closer to my needs compared to bloated ‘I want to be an operating sytem when I grow up’ launchers whose key selling point is as an application platform for a gazillion plugins.

I’m honored to hear that you find it close! I will definitely keep working on it. I will say that I am planning an update to the search experience soon. I don’t know that I’ll have time to cover this specifically. I can tell you that I will look at it while I’m working on search, but I can’t guarantee that it will be fixed in that same release.
