Ability to change mode quickly

Feature Requests

Allow the user to switch modes effortlessly. The first one should always be app launcher. As of right now the only way back to app launcher is by cycling through the whole thing. Or in the settings allow custom time to auto-revert back to app launcher. Or both.

    You can set keyboard shortcuts for each individual mode in the settings, and as for returning to the app launcher at any time you can do one of several options:

    ⌘+ESC

    ⌘+Shift+H
    CTRL+C

      Not necessarily insufficient but some kind of visual way to quickly navigate through Monarch would be nice. I am all for hotkeys but the only hotkeys that people will remember are the ones they use often. Like muscle memory.

      For example, I would use the color picker once every 2 month or so. I can’t say that I would remember set keys given to that screen so quickly - however it is something that I would like to access quickly without needing to navigate through the settings to see which set of keys I had assigned it to.

      Have you ever had an experience where you had to navigate through the settings of an application just to see a certain hotkey? One that you rarely have use but nonetheless you still use?

      If visual clutter is a worry - perhaps, have it as an optional visual clue?

          Howdy! I think I know where OP is coming from, as I distinctly remember thinking it’d be nice to see the handful of modes in the Monarch root search UI somehow. If i remember correctly, RayCast’s compact mode shows your favour items on the right, which you can address with CMD+1…5.

          While I personally can get around this with keybinds (I’ve got my global CMD+1…5 set to the different Monarch modes), I could imagine this may help improve feature discoverability.

            This actually looks really cool! Funny that I never thought to do this and I see what you mean with Raycast’s compact mode
